In Memorium

Carmen and Annie- Bethany and Luthor’s grandparents from their mother’s side. They came back into Bethany’s life when she found them on Ancestry. These characters are dedicated to my grandparents who were always my biggest supporters in life, and were there for us when we needed them. These characters are dedicated to my grandparents. Carmen passed away in 2003 and Antonietta passed away in 2016. Neither got to see my work before they passed.

Charlie Thomas Whitt- Hanna and Hector’s son. He goes from one to seven years old during the timeline of the story. He calls Bethany ‘Sissy” and always hates it when Bethany and Hanna have to leave.

Daniel Cleveland Taylor- Bethany’s boyfriend and eventual husband. This character is dedicated to Dan who passed away August 5, 2022. “He loved to talk to friends and perfect strangers! Many remember him most for his kindness. In embarrassing situations, he would often remind me ‘You’ll never see these people again!’ He was loved, and still is.” Donna Taylor

Lisa Lambert- The sitter that watches Charlie while Hanna and Bethany are on their tasks. This character is dedicated to Lisa Lambert, a mother, a friend, and a lover of nature. She passed away February 13, 2021. “Her smile lit up every room she entered and she tried to even help the helpless. If she could move mountains for you, she would. There was not a person she met that didn't become a friend. She loved her children (biological and not) more than life itself, loved every creature and nature.” Andreah Lowery

Marilee Haberkamp- A fellow guardian who traveled to New Orleans during 1850. She is one of five placed under a spell in order to try and stop Bethany and Hanna from completing their task. This character is a dedication to my godmother, Marilee Haberkamp who passed away on April 21, 2021. She was the complete opposite of her character. “She was one of the hardest working women I know, soft spoken, with a huge heart. She wore her heart on her sleeve for everyone to see.” Michelle Dukes

Melvin/Merlin- Melvin is a student at the San Diego Highschool and a manifestation of Merlin. This character is dedicated to my grandfather who passed away in November of 2021. Sadly, because of COVID, we were not able to visit or even say goodbye. I will always remember him as he was; a smarty pants old man with a love for his coffee.

Nick Huffman- A fellow guardian pulled back in during the Eleanor Roosevelt expedition to assist in using sonar technology to aid in finding Amelia’s plane. This character is dedicated to Nick Huffman who passed away June 9, 2022. “He was giant among men, both in personality and stature. He was a lot of things to a lot of people, and there was no question where one stood with him. His proclivity to air in the side of "shock and awe" overshadowed almost everything about him... except his desire to help people. That is the legacy this larger than life man leaves behind.” Elizabeth James

Richard Raymond- A fellow traveler who traveled to New Orleans during 1850, and another one of the five placed under a spell in order to try and stop Bethany and Hanna from completing their task. "I met him when he was just fifteen years old; he had been dating a female friend of mine at the time. We were quickly drawn together as friends by our common passion for music, silly comedy films and the desire to sing Karaoke — which at that time was still purchased on cassettes. A true entertainer who brought so many people together in this community throughout the years, he had the heart and spirit of an eternal child. We had that in common and I believe it was the glue that continued to hold our friendship together. An entertainer, supportive husband, a loving father and one heck of a good friend, the world lost a great man the day Rich “Sparky” Raymond passed away. I loved my friend, and as many others do, I miss him very much." Denny D. Case

Shannon Mann- The owner or the boarding house where Bethany and Hanna stay during their time in New Orleans. She is placed under a spell in order to try and stop Bethany and Hanna from completing their task. “Shannon was an extraordinary individual. He would tell you like it is. Shannon was a hard worker and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone and everyone. He didn't know how well liked or loved he was. We love you and miss you.” Dustin Mann.

Shannon Whitson- A servant in the King James’ court. She travels to 2022 to bring Bethany back with her in order to help save Mary, Queen of Scots from execution. This character is dedicated to Shannon Whitson who passed away November 30th, 2022.

Tammy Bury- The owner of a local café visited frequently by Bethany and Hanna curing their time in New Orleans. She is known for making the best beignets, as well as her generosity and kindness. This character is in dedication to Tammy Bury. She passed away with family by her side on September 27th, 2021. “My mom was full of life, no matter what adversities were in her way. She was incredibly selfless and would give anyone the shirt off her back. There was never a moment that my sister and I didn’t feel her love for us; she was the most dedicated mom! She would light up every room with her personality & her infectious laugh. She is missed by so many!” Briana Johnson

Taylor “Red”/Penelope Genson- A shapeshifter that owns a boarding house in London. This character is dedicated to Taylor Genson who passed away December 5th, 2022. “I met Taylor across an auditorium, locked eyes and made me laugh and somehow I knew he would absolutely change my life forever. He had that unique ability to change lives and if nothing else, to make someone laugh and smile. He was very, very loved by all who knew him.” Melissa Genson

Timothy Johnson- A local officer who assists Bethany and Hanna with the different issues relating to the survival and death of some of the characters. This character is in dedication to Tim Johnson, a friend who passed away on March 19, 2022. “When Tim walked into a room, the room was instantly improved. He had the easy-going breeze and talents unimaginable.” Red Genson

Wayne Segneri- He was one of the workers off the day an explosion happened at a munitions plant in Illinois. This character is dedicated to Wayne who passed away September 27, 2022.

James “Mugsy” McAlester- James is a retired Traveler and along with his wife, keep the secret from their son (Samuel) until it is necessary to reveal it. They are an old couple who live modestly in Edinburgh, Scotland. This character is dedicated to my uncle/godfather who passed away in a tragic car accident August 28, 1998. "He was someone who was truly taken away too soon. He was the black sheep, the rebel, the motorcycle lovin' desperado. He was there for me when I needed him, and always knew the right advice to give. He didn't take no s**t from anyone, and he was ok with that. Long live the rebel without a cause." Rozy Lee.
